Music and Choirs
Children’s Choir is open to all children of the parish grades K-8. The Children’s Choir sings at an afternoon Christmas Eve Mass and a morning Easter Sunday Mass. Children may participate in one or both sessions each year. It is required to attend the rehearsals for the specific Mass for which they will sing. Rehearsals take place the 3-4 Sundays prior to the Mass from 12:30-1:30pm in the sanctuary. For more information contact Kerry O’Connor at kerryo@hfkparish.org.
Teen Choir provides music for the Saturday evening 5pm Vigil Mass. The choir is open to any parish teens grades 9-12. The choir rehearses before Mass at 4pm. The teen choir also provides music for an afternoon Christmas Eve Mass and is welcome to join the adult choir for any other special feast days. Adult Choir provides music for the 9:00am Mass on Sunday morning as well as other special liturgies including Holy Week and the 9pm Christmas Eve Mass. Light House Band leads the congregation at the Life Teen Mass at 5:00pm on Sunday evenings. Rehearsals are held in the church on Sundays before Mass from 3:30 to 5:00pm. Handbell Angelus Handbell Choirs offer a unique musical experience at Holy Family. Their purpose is to ring out praise to the Lord through music. The choir rings on feast days and other special occasions. We have both a performing choir and a training choir. Some musical experience is a plus, but not required. Beginner classes are held twice a year and are open to 7th-graders through adults. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings in the school music room.
